Religious & Biblical Jordan Tour
About This Tour
Jordan is the other half of the Holy Land. East of the river lie the places where Moses saw the Promised Land, where John baptized Jesus, and where some of Christianity's earliest communities left their mosaics in the floors of Byzantine churches. This private day tour, led by a guide specialized in biblical history, connects those places into one moving journey. We begin at Bethany Beyond the Jordan — the UNESCO-listed Baptism Site — walking among excavated churches and baptism pools to the banks of the Jordan River itself.
From the river we climb to Mount Nebo, where Moses gazed across the valley toward Jericho and Jerusalem; the summit church shelters exquisite 6th-century mosaics, and the view remains as described in Deuteronomy. In Madaba we stand over the famous mosaic map of the Holy Land, then continue — depending on your interests and time — to Machaerus, the lonely hilltop fortress where John the Baptist was imprisoned by Herod Antipas, or north to Umm Qais (biblical Gadara), where the Miracle of the Swine took place overlooking the Sea of Galilee. Pilgrims, history lovers and the simply curious all find this the most meaningful day they spend in Jordan.

Frequently Asked Questions
The core day covers the Baptism Site, Mount Nebo and Madaba comfortably. Machaerus or Umm Qais can each be added, but visiting all five in one day is rushed — we recommend choosing one, or splitting into two days.
