About This Tour

The Mujib Siq Trail is the most exhilarating few hours you can spend in Jordan. From the visitor center on the Dead Sea highway — already 410 meters below sea level, making Mujib the lowest nature reserve on Earth — you wade straight into the river between sandstone walls that rise a sheer kilometer overhead. The canyon narrows, the water deepens, and soon you are pulling yourself up rope-assisted cascades and sliding down natural water chutes polished smooth by millennia of flow.

The trail culminates at a thundering waterfall deep inside the siq, where the walls glow amber in the filtered light and the pool below is perfect for a triumphant swim. The route back down is half hike, half water-slide — most guests arrive laughing and completely soaked. Life jackets are provided and mandatory; no technical skill is needed, just reasonable fitness and a sense of adventure. The trail runs April to October (closed in winter due to flash-flood risk) and pairs beautifully with a restorative float in the Dead Sea afterwards, ten minutes up the road. This is the adventure everyone talks about at dinner.
