Madaba + Dead Sea + Baptism Site Tour
About This Tour
History, faith and pure relaxation — this full-day private tour strings together the best of the Jordan Valley in one seamless loop. The morning belongs to Madaba, the City of Mosaics, where your visit to the Church of St. George reveals the 6th-century Madaba Map, the oldest surviving map of the Holy Land, followed by a stop at a working mosaic workshop where the 1,500-year-old craft is still practiced by hand. From there we drop below sea level into the Jordan Valley to Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the UNESCO-listed Baptism Site of Jesus, walking past Byzantine church ruins and baptism pools to the banks of the Jordan River.
The afternoon is your reward: a private beach resort on the Dead Sea, with lunch included. Float effortlessly in water nearly ten times saltier than the ocean, coat yourself in the mineral-rich black mud, and rinse off in the resort's pools and showers before the drive back to Amman. It is a day that covers Byzantine art, the founding moment of Christianity and the strangest swim on Earth — and because the tour is private, every stop runs on your clock, not a bus schedule.
