🏔️ Wadi Karak Canyoning
About This Adventure
Wadi Karak is less famous than Mujib and significantly more demanding — a proper technical canyoning route involving abseils, natural water slides, jumps into plunge pools, and sections of swift-water swimming. It is the canyon for people who found the Mujib Siq Trail insufficiently wet.
The route descends through a complex limestone canyon system above the Dana Biosphere Reserve area, passing through narrows that require chimney techniques, traverses on sloping ledges, and at least one abseil section requiring a guide-rigged rope. The canyon has been explored and documented by local adventure operators who run small guided groups.
This is a full physical day: allow 4–6 hours in the canyon plus transport. Guides are not optional — the route-finding in wet conditions is genuinely complex, and self-rescue in this canyon is not straightforward.

⚠️ Critical Weather Warning
Flash flood risk applies even on clear days if rain has fallen upstream in the 48 hours prior. Water is cold (8–16°C) and sustained cold-water immersion for 4–6 hours causes meaningful core temperature drop — wetsuits are not optional. This route is physically demanding: 4–6 hours of active canyoning requires a solid aerobic base. Not suitable for non-swimmers.
