About This Adventure
Aqaba sits at the northeastern tip of the Red Sea — one of the world's top ten dive destinations, and arguably the most accessible. You don't need to fly to the Maldives; you need to drive four hours south from Amman.
The bay holds an extraordinary variety of dives compressed into a small area: house reefs reachable by wading, intentionally sunk ships now smothered in soft coral, and open-water walls that plunge into the blue. Visibility regularly reaches 15–25 m, with bursts of 30 m in calm conditions.
Certified divers can hire a guide and head straight to the wrecks — the Cedar Pride is a Lebanese cargo ship sunk in 1985 that is now a living reef at 10–28 m depth, and easily one of the most photographed wrecks in the Middle East. Beginners can complete a full PADI Open Water course in two to three days right here.
