🐠 Snorkeling
About This Adventure
Aqaba's shallow reefs begin just metres from shore, which means snorkeling here requires absolutely no boat, no certification, and no courage — just a mask and a pair of fins you can rent for a few dinars.
The Japanese Garden and First Bay house reefs are perfect for beginners: calm, shallow, and so colourful it feels like someone dropped a tropical aquarium into the desert. Clouds of sergeant-major fish will follow you for breadcrumbs (please don't actually feed them).
For a wilder experience, a short boat ride reaches the outer reefs where you can hover above the Cedar Pride wreck in just 5 m of water and peer down at the deck below — no scuba required.

Weather Advisory
Wind and rough seas push surface chop that clouds shallow reef visibility fast. Sun exposure is extreme year-round in Aqaba — sunscreen, a rash guard, and a hat between dips are not optional. Early morning is calmer and cooler.
